Meet the crew directly at Stella Oceana, docked at Sjøgata 35, 9291 Tromsø, in front of the Fiskekompaniet restaurant. Use the gangway in front of Home Hotel Aurora and wait beside the Stella Oceana sign on the floating dock.Check-in is at 18:45. The yacht departs at 19:00 and returns at approximately 23:00. Please arrive at the check-in time, as departure cannot be delayed for late arrivals.

No. The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and sightings depend on solar activity, cloud cover and other conditions outside our control.The Captain selects the safest and most suitable route within the Tromsø fjords based on the evening’s sea and weather conditions. This is a Northern Lights cruise rather than a road-based chase, so the yacht cannot travel inland in search of clear skies.

Yes. The cruise operates in normal Arctic winter weather, including cloud, rain and snow. Stella Oceana has a heated saloon where you can warm up throughout the evening.The cruise is cancelled only when the Captain considers the sea, weather or other conditions unsafe. If World Sea Explorers cancels before departure, you may reschedule or receive a full refund.

Each booking group receives a private hot-tub session during the cruise. Sessions normally last between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the number of groups onboard, and times are allocated after check-in. The hot tub accommodates a maximum of four guests at a time, so larger groups can take turns.

A vegetarian or vegan stew can be prepared when requested at least 24 hours before departure. Please provide details of any allergies or intolerances when booking.Food is prepared in a shared galley, so we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment or eliminate all risk of cross-contact. Guests with severe or life-threatening allergies should contact us before booking.

Yes. Children are welcome, and many families have enjoyed the cruise. However, this is not specifically designed as a children’s tour. Parents should consider whether their child will be comfortable during a four-hour winter evening cruise from 19:00 to 23:00, including time outdoors and possible movement at sea.Children must be supervised by an accompanying adult throughout the cruise so that everyone onboard can enjoy the experience safely and comfortably.

The cruise is not wheelchair accessible. Guests must be able to board the yacht and walk up and down stairs.Although Stella Oceana is a spacious 34-meter expedition sailing yacht, in some conditions, movement can still be felt at sea. Guests who are sensitive to motion sickness should use their usual prevention method before departure. Please contact us before booking if you have questions about accessibility or specific needs.

The public Northern Lights cruise requires a minimum of six guests to operate.If the minimum is not reached, we will contact you about moving your booking to another available departure. If rescheduling is not possible and the cruise is cancelled, you will receive a full refund.

For public-cruise bookings of one to five guests:More than 48 hours before departure: Full refund or free rescheduling.48 hours or fewer before departure: No refund. Rescheduling is subject to a NOK 1,000 fee.Bookings of six or more guests and private charters have different cancellation and rescheduling conditions. No. The Northern Lights cruise is completely alcohol-free, and guests may not bring their own alcohol onboard. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water and a non-alcoholic welcome drink are included.
