Relocation Fees

Stella Oceana is based in Tromsø. If your charter starts or ends in another location, a vessel relocation fee may apply.
Short Relocation
For locations requiring up to 8 hours of total relocation time, the fee is calculated hourly.
Long Relocation
For locations requiring more than 8 hours of total relocation time, the fee is calculated per day.
For longer one-way or roundtrip relocations, the total relocation time will be calculated individually based on the route, season, weather, and operational requirements.

A Norwegian Operator and Certified Passenger Yacht
World Sea Explorers AS is a Norwegian-owned and operated company, registered under organisation number 922 303 738. Your inquiry, planning and onboard experience are handled directly by the people responsible for delivering your journey.
Stella Oceana is a 34-metre steel sailing yacht, certified as a passenger vessel by the Norwegian Maritime Authority and built to Ice Class 1C. She accommodates up to 12 guests on day cruises and up to 8 overnight guests.
Your journey is led by Captain Kenneth Tårnes, a Master Mariner, former Royal Norwegian Navy sea captain with more than 40 years at sea. Sachi oversees guest communication, charter planning, hospitality and onboard service. Depending on the journey, Stella Oceana operates with a professional crew of two to four.
Accommodation aboard Stella Oceana is comfortable and expedition-style rather than conventional superyacht accommodation. Guests share three cabins: two twin bunk cabins and one four-berth bunk cabin. The guest area has one shared toilet and one shared shower. We provide these details clearly so guests can decide whether the yacht is the right fit before booking.
For set expeditions and itineraries, we first confirm availability and suitability before issuing the charter agreement and payment request. Fully bespoke charters may require a planning fee before detailed itinerary development. This fee is credited toward the final charter price but does not hold dates. A booking is confirmed only when the required agreement and payment have been received.
Each inquiry is reviewed personally. You will receive an immediate acknowledgement and normally a personal response within one business day. Complex route or supplier checks may require additional time, which we will explain in our first response.
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of custom charters do you offer?
We design charters that are completely tailored to your interests. This could be anything from marriage proposals, wedding anniversaries, birthdays, company trips, retirement trips, couples' getaways, multi-generational family trips, wildlife expeditions, back country skiing, cultural experiences, fishing trips and scenic fjord cruises.
How far in advance should I book a private charter?
Three to six months in advance of your charter date allows us enough time to plan logistics, and create a personalised itinerary. However, some clients plan six months to one year in advance, or more last minute within one month of their desired date.
What are the payment terms?
For custom charters, we usually require a planning fee before creating a tailored proposal. This is typically 5% of the total charter price and is credited toward the final balance. The planning fee allows us to prepare a custom itinerary, but it does not confirm or hold the charter.
To secure the charter, a 30% non-refundable deposit is required. For bookings made more than 90 days before departure, the remaining 70% is due no later than 90 days before departure. For bookings made within 90 days, full payment is normally required. In some cases, we may accept a 30% non-refundable deposit, with the remaining balance due within 7 days.
If you wish to confirm the charter before the full itinerary is finalized, the deposit and payment deadlines still apply. We will continue tailoring the itinerary with you when you are ready.
Can I pay with a credit card?
Yes. You can pay with a debit/credit card or bank transfer. International payments are processed securely through Flywire. You can pay in your local currency and all available payment options will be displayed once you select the country from which you are paying.
