Lofoten is one of the best fishing destinations because of the abundance of marine life due to a sustained, clean and balanced ecosystem. For thousands of years, the arctic Atlantic cod (skrei) have migrated from the Barents Sea to the northern Norwegian coast to spawn between February and March. The Lofoten fishery was a key factor in the foundation of Norway's development as a country and is still one of the world's largest seasonal fisheries. The majority of the cod have been and are still caught in Lofoten.
On this weekend fishing tour, you will be fishing with a fishing rod or reel, and no experience is needed. Whether you are a seasoned fisher or beginner, the crew will teach you how to use the equipment onboard the yacht. The chances of catching a big Atlantic cod are almost guaranteed. The fish can be prepared for your meal onboard, or you can bring it home. Learn about the Atlantic cod and the history of this incredible Lofoten fishery and enjoy the fishing experience aboard a luxury yacht.
Experience the spectacular nature and picturesque views in Lofoten while aboard the sailing yacht, Stella Oceana. We provide a classy, comfortable, spacious and relaxed atmosphere with a friendly and professional crew. On this small group fishing tour, you can expect to catch a big Atlantic cod, capture great photos, relax in the hot tub, watch for northern lights and eat fresh fish.

Our fishing trip departs from Svolvær harbor, the main town of the Lofoten Islands. We cruise out to our favourite fishing spots where we know there are excellent opportunities to catch large cod. Relax on the top deck, watch for sea eagles and whales while we prepare the evening meal. Sleep cozy in shared births, enjoy gourmet, locally sourced meals, and warm up in the outdoor hot tub. Daily we’ll explore various fishing spots depending on the winds, tides and sea state. Your World Sea Explorers fishing trip ensures an authentic fishing experience - out in the deep water, exposed to wind and sea, hours of jigging and a very high probability of a big catch. There is no better way to experience deep sea fishing than onboard a luxury yacht captained by a local Norwegian who knows all the best places and can share the traditional fishing techniques and stories with you. Visiting Lofoten? Be sure to add this fishing trip from Svolvaer to your itinerary!
